Mental Health America benefits in settlement

NEWARK – Mental Health America of Licking County is one of 226 charities from across Ohio to benefit from more than $6 million distributed Sept. 4 by the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.

As part of a civil action heard by Judge John J. Russo, $12 million was provided for distribution by The Honor Project to charities throughout Ohio. The Honor Project Trust emanates from litigation pursued by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. Upon settlement of all claims with the defendants, excess proceeds, termed “disgorged funds,” remained.

Associate Director Pam Roberts and Executive Director Penny Sitler, of Mental Health America, took part in a Sept. 4 ceremony at the Global Center For Health Innovation in Cleveland.
