Suicide Prevention Walk and Candlelight Vigil

The 2023 Suicide Prevention Walk and Candlelight Vigil is scheduled for Tuesday, September 12, at the Newark Canal Market District Pavilion from 5 pm – 7 pm, with the Walk beginning at 6 pm. Information on suicide prevention will be provided and people will be able to share their experiences as well as honor loved ones who have died by suicide. 

We light this candle of HOPE to dispel the darkness of discouragement and despair.

We light this candle of GRACE to dispel the darkness of guilt, blame and loss.

We light this candle of TRUTH to dispel the darkness of stigma and misinformation.

We light this candle of JUSTICE to dispel the darkness of inequities and injustice.

We light this candle of FAITH to dispel the darkness of doubt and discouragement.

We light this candle of PEACE to dispel the darkness of trauma and torment.

We light this candle of LOVE to dispel the darkness of indifference and judgment.
