Jan GreenRiver


Jan GreenRiver is the Director of Programs and Prevention at Mental Health America of Licking County.

She attended Bowling Green State University as an Arts Administration major and has worked at Weathervane Playhouse and Millbrook Playhouse as Box Office Manager, Interlochen National Music Camp as Department Secretary and Dayton Ballet as Company Manager. After several years working in every area of health claims, she returned to a more purposeful career as the director of the Extended Day Program at a Christian school.

During that time, she began working as a presenter with the Child Assault Prevention Program and subsequently became the Prevent Assault & Violence Education (PAVE) Coordinator.  In that capacity, she was facilitator of the Sexual Assault Task Force and worked with the Ohio Domestic Violence Network, Prevent Child Abuse Ohio, Ohio Sexual Violence Prevention Network, Inter-Agency Forum, InCahoots, Partnerships for Success and other groups. After three years as Coordinator, Jan was promoted to Director of Programs & Prevention, where she continues to be involved in many of the same organizations and more.

She has three children attending Heath City Schools and keeping her busy as a board member and officer of the Heath High School Alumni Association, various PTOs, Girl Scouts, and other youth oriented activities. Her husband Claude is Chief GreenRiver of the Quahati Commanche tribe and a former Pastor of the First Church of Christ in Coshocton. They spend (any possible free) time watching their children at the ballpark, onstage, or they can be found in local classes educating students about Native American culture, foods, traditions & violence prevention.
